Site Overview
Content
The content of this website is arranged into 6 parts with 2 chapters each (for more information see the Table of Contents on the Home Page). The first 6 chapters move roughly in chronological order and the last 6 cover a more expansive timeframe.
• Each chapter consists of 2 content sections (Technological Innovations and Notable Innovators e.g.)
• Each content section is divided into 4 relevant areas (Computation and The Arts e.g.)
• Each area contains three short essays (Overview, Influences, Impact e.g.)
In addition to the chapter content there is the Epilogue titled The Future Imagined which takes a look at some of the possibilities and potential consequences of our rapidly expanding technological environment.
Layout
HOME PAGE
The Home Page of the website contains a header menu, an Introduction, a Prologue entitled Two Hockey Sticks, and a table of contents that for all of the 12 chapters contains a relevant image, chapter number and title, and brief description.
CHAPTERS
Each chapter has a main page and each contains a short introductory video, an essay that provides a broader view of the chapter, the two content sections (Technological Innovations and Notable Innovators e.g.), and a closing section titled Questions that recaps the chapter with 5 questions designed to help broaden the inquiry.

HEADER MENU
On the top left of the menu is the Home Page link. The rest of the header menu consists of the Titles of the 6 parts along with the Epilogue.
These titles are NOT links. Roll over the Part Name (Seeds e.g.) and it will display a dropdown menu with the individual chapter names for that part (Visionaries, Early Years e.g.). These chapter names ARE links and clicking on one of them will take you to that chapter page.
INTRODUCTION
From the Home Page you can navigate to the 2 parts of the Introduction by clicking the WELCOME and SITE OVERVIEW buttons which will take you to those individual pages.
PROLOGUE
Click on the PROLOGUE button to read the opening essay entitled Two Hockey Sticks.
TABLE OF CONTENTS
In addition to the Header Menu you can navigate to the chapters from the Table of Contents. Each one has a relevant image on the top and the chapter number and title on the bottom. Roll over the text portion of the box to reveal an overview of the content of that chapter and click on the image to go to the chapter page.

HEADER MENU
The Header Menu is the same as the Home Page and remains the same for the whole website.
INTRODUCTION VIDEOS
The video controls consist of the Play/Pause button, the speaker volume (separate from the master volume on your device), the Closed Caption button, and the Full Screen button.
CHAPTER ESSAY
The introductory essay for each chapter opens up on the chapter page and contains a Read More and Read Less button at the bottom of the text.
MAIN CONTENT (2 Sections)
The underlined Title of each section (Technological Innovations and Notable Innovators e.g.) is a link that will take you to the top of that page. Below that is a circle image for each sub-section (Computation, The Arts e.g.). Each image is a link that will take you to that specific place on the page.
SUB-SECTIONS
Each sub-section is a tab design that consists of 4 tabs. Click on the tab title to see its content. Each tab contains 3 titles each (Overview, Influences, Impact e.g.) with a Read More and Read Less button.
